Sailfish celebrate their upcoming 70 year anniversary in 2026 and will strut their stuff at PYC Open Day, Sunday 9th November 2025 from 11.30am in a practice warmup event!

In 1956, at Parkdale Yacht Club, two mates launched the boats they had designed and built together. Those two were Bruce Scott and Jack Carroll and those boats were the very first two Australian Sailfish, number 1 Little Osprey and number 2 Debonair.

This coming November they are coming back to where it all began.

On PYC Open Day, 9th November 2025, a number of Sailfish will join PYC celebrating sailing and the lead into their 70th anniversary next year.

Whether you are a seasoned Bay sailor or a novice Bay sailor here is your chance to have a sail on Port Phillip and celebrate (nearly) 70 years of the Australian Sailfish right where it all kicked off.
