Parkdale Yacht Club is proudly volunteer-run, with a long and proud history of community involvement and the development of sailors of all ages and abilities in a fun, friendly, and inclusive environment. While our dedicated volunteers do incredible work year-round, we rely on the generosity of members, families, and supporters to keep our programs afloat and to secure our club’s future.
Why Your Support Matters
Our sailing programs depend on safe, functional rescue boats and up-to-date equipment. As our current fleet ages, we face the challenge of replacing essential vessels and continually upgrading coaching and training resources.
Your donation or bequest can directly support:
Essential safety equipment, including the replacement of ageing rescue boats
Learn-to-sail programs and sailing equipment for juniors and beginners
Resources for training and development of sailors and volunteer coaches
Community sailing initiatives — with a focus on expanding access for women, girls, and local residents who may have limited opportunities for social interaction
All major expenditures supported by bequests and donations are reviewed and approved by the PYC Committee and will not be used for general operating expenses.
Making a Bequest
After you’ve made provisions for your loved ones, you may wish to consider leaving a gift to Parkdale Yacht Club in your will — a simple but powerful act that will help ensure our club thrives for generations to come.
You can make a bequest in the form of:
- A specific dollar amount
- A percentage of your estate
- The remainder of your estate after caring for other beneficiaries
- Real property
By making a bequest, you provide peace of mind that your support will have lasting impact — and ensure your values live on through community, connection, and sailing.
We treat all bequests with the utmost respect and confidentiality. If you prefer to remain anonymous, we will honour your wishes completely.

You can also support PYC today with a one-off or recurring donation. Every dollar makes a difference and directly supports the delivery of our sailing programs and facilities.
