Frequently Asked Questions

How many people can fit in your function room?

We can comfortably accommodate 100 guests seated, or up to 140 guests standing in our function room [depending on your set up]. We also have a large entrance foyer which is perfect for arrival drinks or registration and a beautiful balcony.


Is parking available at the club?

The yacht club does not have a private car park. Guests are able to use the council parking / street parking surrounding the club.


Are there blinds along the windows that I can use while we are having our presentation?

Yes, we have sheer and block out blinds along the windows, with the exception of the 2 x doorways leading out onto the balcony neither does the window adjacent to the bar area.


Can I have my hen/bucks/18th party at PYC?

Unfortunately PYC does not accept bookings for these parties. However, we are now accepting 21st birthdays.


Do you provide staff?

A PYC venue hire package for up to 50 guests includes a bar tender, security personnel (dependent upon the event) and a duty manager who will remain on-site to assist with your needs and any operational issues.

If your function exceeds 50 guests, we will organise additional bar/wait staff for your event at an additional cost.


How far in advance will I have access to the club to set up for my event?

We will endeavour to provide you with as much access as you need to set up for your function.

Access time to set up is negotiable, depending on the club's use by its members and other event bookings in place.


How long is my event allowed to go for?

A standard booking on a Friday or Saturday is 5 hours, however this is negotiable [additional charges will apply].

A standard booking  Monday to Thursday is 3 hours, again this is negotiable [additional charges will apply].


Am I able to leave items at the club for collection the next day / at a later date?

Unfortunately we have limited storage space for items at the club and therefore we do ask that all items are taken with you at the end of your event.


What furniture do you have available?

  • 10 x large round tables [seat 10-11]
  • 100 x chairs
  • 14 x cocktail / bar tables
  • 30 x Tolix bar stools
  • 6 x trestle tables (varying sizes)


Can I hire my own furniture?

Yes, you are more than welcome to hire your own furniture. Please just be mindful that it will need to be collected at the end of your event.


Do you set up the furniture for us and pack it away?

PYC is able to provide you with the use of our furniture, however it is the hirer’s responsibility to set this up and also pack it away at the end of the function.


Is there space for a dance floor / area?

Whilst PYC do not provide a physical dance floor, there is ample space to have a dance area in the room, depending on your set up and guest numbers.


Do you allow coffins on-site for funeral services and is there adequate access for this?

We do allow coffins on site. There are three steps to negotiate at the entrance to the club, however there is a ramp available as our lift is not big enough to accommodate a coffin.
